The National, Thursday August 1st, 2013
STUDENTS of St Anne’s Elementary School at Gerehu in the nation’s capital joined the rest of the church to celebrate the feast day of St Joachim and St Anne, the grandparents of Jesus.
The school itself bore the name of St Anne, and it was fitting that it took part in the July 26 celebrations.
Principal Sr Alice Lonappan said the school began the celebration with the Holy Eucharist thanking God for the gifts of children in families.
That was followed by a cultural programme where children showed their respect for their school’s patron saint.
