Pursue education, protect your land: Isoaimo

Kairuku-Hiri MP Peter Isoaimo has urged children in his electorate to pursue good education in order to protect their land from land grabbers.
“You have to be educated so that no one will con you to illegally reside on your land,” he said.
Speaking at a ground-breaking ceremony of a classroom at Kerea in the Hiri district on Friday, Isoaimo said: “We are living on the boundary of the National Capital District (NCD) and our land is slowly being acquired illegally.
“That happens when locals are not educated to know their cunning moves.
“Fake consultants con non-educated villagers, use their land to get hefty payouts from the State and the villagers are left with nothing.
“I have more land problems than any other MP in Papua New Guinea – We have spillover from an over-populated NCD and it is affecting the Hiri district right now.
“Every time we try to solve a land problem, another one pops up.”
