Put aside differences

Letters

I AM a simple Morobe student who has spent four years under the leadership of the past and now present Morobe Tertiary Students’ Union (MTSU) executives.
I would firstly run my critique on both the old and new student leaders.
The old student leadership was made up of experienced guys who fought for the rights of many Morobean intellects who have graduated and gone.
I’d like to stress on my era.
In my time, I came under the leadership of Ixzera Bakung.
He did a lot of things for MTSU and I applaud him for his efforts.
Secondly, during the old executive’s time, I only knew that MTSU existed when Gerson Solulu Scholarship opened.
Apart from that, it slept or died all throughout the year.
I must also admit that there was no cohesiveness and combination among the old executives.
I also admit that Bakung was the only one shining out.
The new executives are something else.
They are the modernised version of Morobe student leaders.
These guys share a lot in common and I must admit, unity, team work vision and bright dreams.
MTSU is now recognised by the international community too.
One thing I’ve found in this team is they love to take necessary risks.
One thing they lack is experience.
Even though Jonathan Mambere seems to be cool and patient about everything, he is under a lot of stress.
I call on the new and old executives to put aside their differences and work as a team.
