Putting teachers under stress

Letters

THE education minister’s explanations about the deductions being made from teachers’ pay do not make sense.
The teachers who have gone to the media make up only the tip of the iceberg.
Thousands of teachers throughout the country have had their pay cut but have not come out to publicly express their dissatisfaction, mostly because they have been unable to. Many live and work in areas too remote.
The department recently introduced the standard-based curriculum as a replacement for the much-criticised outcome-based curriculum.
What results do we expect to get if we continue to put teachers under emotional stress?
The problem needs an explanation and a quick solution.
