THOSE planning Christmas travel to Daru in Western and Losuia and Misima in Milne Bay, will have to find other means of transport as Air Niugini’s proposed new service to those destinations have been postponed to early next year.
Airline chief executive officer Wasantha Kumarasiri said last Monday this was because of the unavailability of aircraft.
He said the fleet was engaged in critical services following the Airlines PNG crash in Madang in October.
Early this year, Kumarasiri announced plans for the new services, saying those destinations would be ready for operations before the year’s end to take advantage of the Christmas season.
He however, said the services would still eventuate by early next year.
