NATIONAL flag carrier Air Niugini has introduced a new in-flight duty-free catalogue with 152 items from some of the world’s renowned brands.
This is an increase of 127 items from the initial 25 which are on offer to international travellers.
Called Paradise world boutique, PNG’s very own finest coffee and hand- crafted exquisite jewellery would be among those on offer.
Air Niugini chief executive officer Wasantha Kumarasiri said Air Niugini customers and those of Qantas, under the code-share agreement, could buy the new products.
He said with the first edition of Paradise world boutique, Air Niugini was pleased to lead in providing customers with world-class standard and giving customers many options to purchase items of their choice.
Prices are marked in US dollar but purchases could also be made in kina, Philippines peso, Japanese yen and in currencies of Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong.
“From today, we will be carrying 152 new line items in our duty free and this (is) our improved services to our travelling public.
“Prices offered are very competitive and supplier-recommended retail prices are being offered,” he said, adding that the executive club members would receive 10% discount on all items.
The new catalogue was launched on Monday, witnessed by Air Niugini staff and management, including the vice-president of Hong Kong-based King Power Traveller (Duty- Free), Ray Jayasekera.
King Power is the supplier of most of the items on offer in Air Niugini’s in-flight international service.
