PX shouldn’t take over PNG Air

Letters

Something is very wrong with our airline industry.
We are heading towards a monopoly in the airline industry.
Why is Air Niugini so eager to get its hands on PNG Air?
I believe that’s because they have lost market shares under their renowned leader who was with the other airline when things were not so good.
He left and things gradually improved.
But things went downhill from there.
That is disappointing.
Why are the shares of Nasfund not available to the open market?
That is because of the shady deal between Air Niugini and Nasfund.
Is this even legal?
What is Pomsox’s judgment on this?
Something fishy is happening here.
The way I see it, Air Niugini gets the shares then it would slowly increases its shareholding up to 51 per cent and eventually taking over.
There goes the competition.
They said their move won’t result in job losses.
However, there will definitely be job losses.
Papua New Guineans need to stand up to this act of corruption.
Enough is enough.
I think it’s time the Government supports PNG Air.
At least PNG Air does not look for handouts all the time.
Give them a loan.
I am sure they will repay a loan quicker than Air Niugini will ever do.
