MAINTENANCE to Air Niugini aircraft may cause disruptions to flight schedules, the airline said yesterday.
It said one of its Boeing aircraft was unserviceable because of technical defects but two Boeing 767 aircraft were maintaining operations on the international sector.
“On the domestic sector, there aircraft are unserviceable at the moment. Air Niugini managed to minimise disruptions,” a statement from its corporate affairs department said.
“However, it could not avoid cancellation of PX 864 to Tari, PX 858 to Gurney and PX 962 to Goroka last Friday.
“All disrupted passengers were uplifted on the available flights last Saturday.
“While engineers are working to bring the aircraft back on line, there may be some disruptions to operations on the domestic schedule and we appreciate understanding from the travelling public.
“Air Niugini regrets the inconvenience caused, however our valued customers are reminded that safety is always of paramount importance in the operators of Air Niugini.”
