BOMAI Pythons participating in the Madang rugby league are making their presence felt in the competition this season.
After making their entry in the competition, the Pythons comprising youths from the southern part of Chimbu, are currently taking the lead in the A grade.
Usino-Bundi MP Samson Kuli visited  the club with a  new set of uniforms.
Club vice-president Peter Morgan thanked Kuli for the support saying it was “something special and a boost to the players”.
He said the players from Bomai, who reside in Madang, came up with an initiative to start a club after having friendly matches with visiting teams from villages in Gumine district, Chimbu.
“After the friendly games, we decided to form a team to take part in the Madang Nines challenge, and our boys displayed their true colours winning the finals,” Morgan said.
He added the club elected executives who helped register the club to field teams in the Madang competition.
“So far our players are giving established clubs in Madang a run for their money and it will be a dream come-true if we enter the finals,” Morgan said.
