THE Catholic “Queen of the Pacific” parish in Port Moresby plans to raise K5 million by 2024 to have a new building.
Fundraising team chairman Joseph Klapat told parishioners last Sunday that due to the increase in church membership in the parish, they should build a bigger better worship house.
The Mamose group started fundraising activities by setting up a stall at the church grounds selling food and K10 raffle tickets.
Klapat said there were more than 3,000 parishioners of the church and if each bought a K10 ticket a week for 52 weeks: “We can meet the projected figure.”
Klapat told the parishioners last Sunday that the parish had K300,000 in its bank account, accumulating each month an interest of K5,000.
