THE break-up and implementation of Huon Gulf district’s recent project rollout by MP Sasa Zibe is not in accordance with the resolution of the joint district planning and budget priority committee (JDP&BPC).
Wampar local level government president Peter Namus claimed this had created disharmony among the people.
The claim stemmed from last Thursday’s K60,000 rollout where K15,000 each was taken from the allocations of Wampar, Salamaua and Morobe local level governments.
“They did not get my approval to divert my LLG’s K15,000.
“The K60,000 could have catered for 100 water pumps or other community impact projects,” Namus said.
Claiming to speak on behalf of Morobe LLG president Michael Gape and Salamaua LLG president Joshua Haggai, he said Zibe and district administrator Tony Ase should explain to the people of Huon Gulf what they did.
He said despite their good working relationship with Zibe, the MP had on many occasions failed to implement JDP&BPC resolutions.
“We are experiencing problems in Wampar because the communities are fighting over the vehicles and other equipment.
“The people of Mare are fighting the Wampets and the Ziffasing against the Tararan.
“Some groups and communities are benefiting while others have missed out.”
He said frustrated youths from West Taraka had also walked off with a new outboard motor engine.
Namus also questioned the delay in the water supply project and health centre wards at Wampar. The water supply and wards cost K100,000 and K450,000 respectively.
District administrator Ase however said the rollout had been explained during the JDP&BPC meeting and the outburst by Namus was for political reasons.
