NAWAE MP Gisiwat Siniwin has questioned the future of the Zifasing Cattle Ranch in Morobe, now abandoned and lying idle.

His question in parliament was directed at Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Industry Tommy Tomscoll and he wanted to know the plans, if any, the government had to revive the ranches.

Siniwin asked Tomscoll if his department did a stocktake of the Livestock Development Corporation (LDC), the body responsible for the operation and management of cattle ranches in the country.

Tomscoll said in 2008, about 8,000 heads of cattle were bought from the Ramu Agri Industries to be distributed by LDC.

He said that the Zifasing Cattle Ranch and the Koitaki Farm were faced with management difficulties and abandoned.
