Query over use of govt vehicles

Letters

THERE was an accident opposite Gerehu Secondary School where a Government vehicle, a CRV, was stolen.
The driver, a very-senior officer in the Department of Justice and Attorney-General, was driving home when the incident happened.
This particular officer has been keeping this vehicle at home despite circular instructions from chief secretary, former Department of Personnel Management secretary and the Justice Secretary to pool all Government vehicles after hours and during weekends.
Department staff – especially those who were charged, dismissed or demoted for similar incidents – are questioning when the secretary will take disciplinary action against this officer.
The vehicle is not at the DJAG’S carpark or workshop.
