Quick action wins praise

 A YOUTH group in Ialibu Pangia district, Southern Highlands, has praised Prime Minister Peter O’Neill for his quick response to the floods that devastated the area.

“I commend the Prime Minister for sending in the district administrator and his deputy to carry out assessment at the Kalue Section of the Wiru Loop Road,” All Youth Progressive Network Group chairman Bob Tana said.

“His quick intervention into helping not only his electorate but other affected areas in the Southern Highlands is a thumbs up.”

Heavy rain caused the Komo River to burst its banks and destroy food gardens and the road.

A team from the government was sent to assess the disaster situation.
