CEREMONIAL Park in Kokopo will come alive tomorrow with round two of the Kumul Petroleum National Soccer League (NSL) New Guinea Islands Conference heading to East New Britain for the first time.
Conference development coordinator Tonga Esira has urged the public in East New Britain to turn up in numbers and witness another historical milestone for the semi-professional competition in the country.
“I am confident that we will have a positive response like we did last weekend in Kimbe,” Esira said.
“A lot of people see East New Britain as a rugby league province but they’ve got history in football.
“They have produced players for Hekari United and the national team in the past.
“So I believe it’s going to be another special weekend.
“It is going to be Radazz’s first home game.
“I am sure they will want to bounce back in front of their home fans after a big loss last weekend to AROB Chebu.
“For West Tribe, they’re coming off a draw with Green Gold.
“So both sides will be looking for their first win.
“It is going to be an interesting one.”
Meanwhile, in Kimbe, Green Gold will be taking on Vudal Gazelle.
Vudal Gazelle will be travelling from the east to play their first NSL match on Sunday after sitting out with a bye last weekend.
AROB Chebu are on a bye this weekend.
Round four of the Highlands Conference will see Enga Laima searching for their first win when they face the Blue Kumuls in the opening match at the National Sports Institute in Goroka.
The second fixture will be a challenging one for Simbu Angra, who are yet to record a win and will be going up against an unbeaten Kagua Erave outfit. Kagua Erave coach Steven Mune obviously will be advising his troops not to underestimate their opponents as they go in search of their fourth win in a row.
In the main game, Mt Hagen and Aporro Mai will be hunting for their second wins.
