THE Christian Broadcasting Radio’s board of trustees aims for the Gospel of Jesus to reach all parts of PNG through its FM radio station.
Wantok Radio Light acting general manager Alois Ok said when announcing the introduction of four new FM stations on 105.9 frequency.
Ok said each new station cost K80,000-K100,000 to buy equipment and they receive their funding from listeners’, sponsors and the government.
The Wantok Radio Light has ordered 15 new transmitters this year to be used to establish new FM stations.
The four new stations were established from May to August.
The stations are in Pangia, Southern Highlands; Kavieng, New Ireland; Alotau, Milne Bay and Popondtta, in Northern.
The other 11 transmitters are yet to be used.
Ok said before the end of the year stations in Wakunai, in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville; Madang, Kiunga, Western; Bulolo, Morobe; Poliamba, New Ireland, and Manus would be up and running.
He said its broadcasts had touched and changed the lives of many people.
He said they received up to 17,000 text messages a month from people responding to its broadcast.
“By listening to this station many marriages are being restored, sick are being healed and people are being transformed by giving their lives to Jesus,” he said.
The network has 19 FM stations but its board of trustees is ensuring that FM station reach all districts of the country.
“We want the nation to be changed through the heart by receiving Christ and not by law or government or anything apart from Christ.
“When people are transformed and change from inside we notice it in their outside characters and attitudes so true change must come from inside through Christ,” Ok said.
