RAIL did not engage police

 ON June 5, in a story headlined ‘Police used in eviction’, we quoted a landowner as saying that Ramu Agri Industries Ltd (RAIL) engaged police to forcibly evict 265 terminated workers from its premises. It has been pointed out to us that police were only on standby to prevent the situation from turning violent. They were not directly involved in the eviction. We regret any inconvenience caused to the company.
