“Looking back on the past years, we have gone through numerous hardships, from which we have drawn unbounded confidence today,” he stated.
“Let’s be calm and attentive, advance each task in a practical and efficient manner.” Yongxue urged all line managers and staff of the nickel/cobalt project in Madang to accomplish the company’s corporate annual targets.
He issued the challenge at the company’s Beijing office in China recently during the company’s annual work conference, attended via video simulcast by senior line managers and employees at all the company’s operation sites including Kurumbukari mine, Basamuk refinery and the Madang operations base.
Yongxue emphasised on key areas which needed to be improved this year and urged all the staff to focus on accountability, draw up better layout of the future and endeavour to achieve high-quality development.
He said key areas for this year included stabilising operation and strengthening performance appraisal, improving management efficiency, escalating competitiveness to enhance momentum, optimising staffing numbers and pressing on localisation, placing priority on the memorandum of agreement review negotiations, mitigating risks and reinforcing capacity in compliant operation, and expediting feasibility study for listing and advancing towards long-term stability and standard governance.
