THE board, management and staff of Ramu NiCo Management Ltd last Friday met to set out objectives and tasks for 2016.
They reviewed and summarised the company’s major accomplishments last year and analysed the company’s operation situation.
The annual tele-conference was attended by staff from Ramu NiCo establishments including Kurumbukari mine, Basamuk refinery, Madang operations base and the Beijing office in China.
President Wang Jicheng presented a review and summary of the firm’s accomplishments and challenges.
Wang said the company last year had put intensive efforts into production ramp-up and stabilisation, expenditure and cost reduction, efficiency improvement and management innovation.
These were based on the instruction from the MCC group to reach nameplate capacity and control deficit. “With every endeavour we have made, RMNL managed to accomplish the average annual production capacity as high as 78.5 per cent,” Wang said.
The company also completed its annual health, safety and environmental target, witnessed improvement in product quality at lower production cost, made progress in department reshuffle, community relations maintenance and fostered collaboration with all shareholders.
In addition, crisis awareness was raised last year, which introduced more positive work style and higher work efficiency.
Wang set out key objectives and tasks for this year to accomplish the company annual target.
He said the company faced uncertainties as regards the market situation in 2016.
But the meeting set new objectives and tasks to realise the company’s effort to be productive.
