Ramu NiCo extends security deal with local company

A MINE developer has signed an agreement to extend for another three years a K20 million contract with a landowner company to provide security services at its site.
Ramu NiCo Management (MCC) Ltd is the developer of the Ramu nickel-cobalt project in Madang.
Raibus Security Services Ltd owned by the landowners provide security services at the mining site.
Ramu NiCo president Gao Yongxue signed on behalf of the company witnessed by Charlie Hu, general manager of the company’s corporate office.
Mathew Denguo, the Raibus general manager signed on behalf of the landowners witnessed by chief executive officer Kenny Kerry.
It is the fourth time the contract has been renewed since 2007. The number of security guards has been increased from 180 to 185.
Raibus Limited is for the landowners from the Kurumbukari mine in the Usino-Bundi, Basamuk refinery in Raicoast and the 135 km pipeline landowners.
The two parties agreed to work together for the benefit of the landowners in fulfilling Ramu NiCo’s motto of “One Ramu NiCo, One Community”. Gao said the operator would always support the landowner company as part of its corporate responsibilities.
“One day, we hope that it can be the best security firm in Madang and PNG,” Gao said.
Denguo thanked Ramu NiCo for renewing the contract and promised to improve the quality of the security services.
