THIRTY-seven employees of the Ramu Nico mine in Madang were awarded the “Employee of the Year 2019” awards during the company’s annual working conference last Tuesday.
Ronald Kapena, a trainer at the Basamuk refinery skills development training centre, said Ramu Nico Management (MCC) Ltd was a company that took care of its employees.
“We are overwhelmed with joy to see Ramu Nico caring for its employees like a mother hen embracing her little chicks to keep them warm and safe,” he said.
Kapena said the awards were not only a recognition and appreciation for their performance, but also an incentive and motivation for others in the company. “This year will be an exciting and challenging year for us,” he said.
“Let us work as a team, embrace each other and work towards achieving company’s set targets.”
Kapena said the company would face challenges during its operations but the work force was united and committed to working with management to ensure they completed all tasks and duties in an efficient, safe and professional manner.
An employee also received an award from Ramu Nico’s parent company MCC.
