Readers want news, not petty attacks

The National, Thursday 24th November 2011

FIRST, let me say that I buy The National every day and occasionally, I pick up a copy of the Post-Courier.
I will not go into the reasons why this is so, but I would say that I like The National more for its coverage and better quality of print which is more pleasing to the eye.
Of late, I have noticed with much amusement attempts by the Post-Courier to discredit The National by linking the newspaper to its owners, Rimbunan Hijau.
I find this quite distasteful and childish.
I would even say that Post is not giving its readers due respect.
I do wish that both newspapers would concentrate on providing readers with the best and latest news rather than trying to have a go at each other.
Post, in particular, should stop its tendency to sensationalise issues.
PNG does not need this kind of news reporting.
We are aware of how people can be misled.
Newspapers have a responsible role to play.
Do not get muddled in petty rivalry.
