THE Southern Highlands administration wants to strengthen change and progress this year.
Deputy administrator Dr Bravy Koensong said thid was the motto that would put the province back on track.
He said since a  state of emergency had been declared in the province in 2006, most government services were non-existent and the public service machinery was not fully functional.
But with the new plans in place and the administration’s commitment to improve service delivery to the people, the province was now on the road to recovery, he said.
Koensong said the provincial corporate plan and the annual activity plan were completed, while the development plan would be ready by June.
He said by June the province would be on the right track instead of “roaming in the wilderness” and by next January, the province would be fully functional.
Plans are being done in a bottom up approach in line with the government’s Vision 2050 and medium-term development strategy.
An administrative team would be visiting all villages, council wards and major institutions in the province, as well as liaise with donors, and government departments in order to finalise the development plan.
