Real work of art … The inaugural PNG Women in Business exposition in Lae at the weekend exposed some of the unique skills and talents of women around the country. One of those women was Doris Pononai, in her 50s, from Maprik, East Sepik province, who was displaying her portraits of animal images that were created by spinning wool around nails that were tacked onto wooden boards. She said she had been creating this art since she was a child and had now turned it into a commercial activity that assisted her and her family especially with school fees. Mrs Pononai said the expo had given her the opportunity to showcase her talent and she was pleased that her art had aroused interest from the public.
