Reason for move ‘laughable’

Letters

In the past, Papua New Guinea’s political leaders’ defection to form a new Government or in an attempt to overthrow a well-functioning government was disturbing to watch.
The reasons given by the old recycled leaders moving to the opposition hoping for miracles to occur in improving the economy for the remaining 18 months into the next general election in 2022 is disgusting, laughable and shameful.
Those recycled leaders who had defected were in the previous government and they were part of the team that caused the economic crisis the nation is facing today.
It absolutely doesn’t make any sense at all the reasons provided by those so-called leaders who previously served as PMs, deputy PMs and Senior Ministers.
How hard they try to justify their dissatisfaction to leave the Government and join the opposition?
There must a pull factor that led to that.
There are few genuine opposition members who stand out among fake ones.
Leaders with integrity such as Dr Allan Marat and Joseph Lelang have true leadership quality that other MPs can emulate.
If these two opposition members move to the Marape-led government, it would send a strong message to the power hungry and money driven leaders who moved to the opposition at will claiming to do so in the best interest of the country or hearing the cries of the people. That is, separate the sheep from the goat.
The people should rise up to stop the nonsense caused by leaders who claim to have integrity or follow principles.
