TEAM Red registered their second win in the Tanobada Botai Laurina Kuriu Volleyball Association women’s A-Grade competition with a 2-0 victory against Team Black at Hanuabada village in the National Capital District on Saturday.
After going down 0-2 to Team White, Red grabbed the two-set victory while Yellow and White grabbed wins over Green and Blue respectively in round four.
Winning 2-1 against Black in the men’s A-Grade, Red continue their impressive form while Green defeated Yellow 2-0 and Blues edged White 2-1.
Despite the heavy rains in the nation’s capital last week, association president Ted Mea said the commitment by teams and players was commendable.
“The heavy downpour did not stop the games, all the teams were reluctant to finish their matches with teams asking to continue with their respective trainings despite the weather,” he said.
“Due to timing, we had a few matches postponed to later hours (after dark), however, this did not affect the competition with lighting from nearby houses assisting with matches.”
Meanwhile, on Friday, the association – formed by Hanuabada clans – organised friendly matches with teams from nearby communities in an effort to network with other volleyballers.
