RABIA Reds’ swift offence helped them beat Ene Monou in the men’s and women’s divisions of the Moresby South Basketball Competition at Kaugere on Sunday.
Reds remain unbeaten after round four in the men’s division and are outright favourites for the Justin Tkatchenko Cup.
Reds thumped Ene Monou 38-21 with the experienced quartet of Apia, Cornelius, Dia and Obert Muri leading the way. They also had a height advantage.
Monou’s Bradley Atii, Eddie Moses, Benaia John, Junken Mope and Ezekiel Vaieke were valiant in attack and defence, but Reds had them contained for most of the match. Reds led 19-13 at halftime and bagged 19 more points to Monou’s eight after the break to claim the win.
In the women’s division, Papua New Guinea international Marca Muri led Reds to a 41-30 win over Monou to remain unbeaten after round four.
