Reduce airfares to Tabubil and Kiunga

I AM one of those local tourists travelling occasionally on holiday breaks to other centres of PNG.

I recently visited Tabubil and Kiunga.

One thing that prompted me to air my concern is the high cost of airfares charged to passengers travelling through the mentioned destination by Airlines PNG.

The airfares between Mt Hagen and Tabubil and  vice-versa  are K799 or K800.

I assume other centres will be charged more than this.

This airfare is indeed killing the ordinary citizens apart from the mine workers.

Can the airlines reduce the cost or minimise the rate charged per passenger?

Or can our government look into this issue and assist its citizens?

We would like to request the Travel Air (Mangi lo Ples) and its management to consider expanding its wings to these remote parts of the border towns and establish its offices in either Kiunga or Tabubil to ease this  burden  of  high cost of travelling.
