Reduce global warming through clean projects

PAPUA New Guineans must embrace Clean Development Mechanisms (CDM) as a way forward to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions that leads to global warming, Pius Riposon from the Office  of Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability (OCCES), said.
Mr Riposon, who is executive and marketing manager for CDM projects, said PNG could benefit through having clean energy development projects which focuses on gas emissions reducing into the atmosphere by promoting use of renewable energy such as windmill, solar and hydro power.
He said major focus in PNG under CDM project included solar, hydro, windmill, waste management, transport and forestry.
He said these were two current CDM projects.
