Referendum commission set for roadshow

THE Bougainville Referendum Commission (BRC) will be staging a roadshow in Bougainville this week.
The commission said the purpose was to update the people on the activities that were being carried out in preparation for the upcoming referendum.
The roadshow will start in Buka, North Bougainville, today at the Bel Isi Park, followed by Arawa in Central Bougainville tomorrow and Buin, South Bougainville, on Saturday.
“This will be an opportune time for people to attend and get updated information on various tasks and activities that Bougainville Referendum Commission has already undertaken or is currently implementing in preparation for the upcoming referendum,”a statement from the commission said.
“Apart from this roadshow, the Bougainville Referendum Commission is also set to commence its awareness within the wards and community governments in Bougainville.
“These awareness sessions will be facilitated by awareness officers who have been recruited from each ward within the community governments in Bougainville.”
