Relief supplies abandon

National, Normal

WHILE many had plenty to eat during the festive season, villagers in the rain-battered Kaintiba and Kotidanga districts in Gulf province struggled to find food to satisfy their hunger.
A Kotidanga district community leader said relief supplies never reached the affected villages and took Kerema Open MP Titus Pitom Bombom to task for the failure.
Provincial co-ordinator for Caraitas attached with the Kerema Catholic diocese Joseph Puaka said the food supplies bought and transported to Malalaua late last year were “stranded” in Malalaua.
Villagers had to find food after continuous rain since January last year.
