Relocation of school objected

Letters

A GROUND breaking ceremony was held last week in Mt Hagen regarding the establishment of the IBS institution.
What is the motive behind Paias Wingti’s decision to relocate Hagen Park Secondary School to a new location and establish the IBS institution in school’s site?
This is totally insane!
There are lot of customary and alienated land that are eagerly waiting for developments or to be developed in the province which should be considered instead of this developed land.
It clearly shows that Wingti has no development plans for his province.
IBS is an institution owned by Indians with profit motives, while Hagen Park Secondary School is a pioneer public school in the province.
As a well-respected leader in the province, how can a pioneer school be sacrificed to build an overseas owned institution.
A school is a national asset that contributes in the development and running of a nation.
For a country to develop human resources is vital.
When a school is destroyed, the future of the elites are being jeopardised and the country’s development would be frustrated.
Therefore, leaders with different motives should not intervene in the running of a school.
Hagen Park day Secondary School has produced and contributed a lot to the human resources sector of this country and it should remain as it is.
