THE Remington Group has welcomed Stacey O’Nea as the new chief executive of the Port Moresby Chamber of Commerce and Industry (POMCCI).
O’Nea is the first woman and Papua New Guinean to be appointed chief executive of the Chamber of Commerce.
Remington Group chief executive and chamber vice-president Peter Goodwin said O’Nea’s appointment was timely and well-deserved.
“I am confident that Stacey will take POMCCI to new and greater heights,” he said. “With a background in law, public administration, international political economy and marketing, O’Nea already has plans to strengthen relations between the PNG Government and the private sector through the POMCCI.”
O’Nea said she wanted to revisit PNG’s five national goals and directive principles of integral human development, equality and participation, national sovereignty and reliance, national resources and environment, and PNG ways through her role at POMCCI.
“I want be a part of a Papua New Guinean economy where the PNG Government and the private sector are working together under the public and private partnership framework,” she said,
