USINO-BUNDI MP Jimmy Uguro gave K45,000 to the Igoi Primary School and promised to give another K10,000 to build a church and pastors’ house.
Uguro said the school was in a remote area.
“Education is my priority because as an educationist myself, I know where needs are in school fees, school trucks and learning facilities,” he said.
“I believe in education empowerment to invest today and reap positive results tomorrow.
“But parents must take ownership for their children’s upbringing and education.”
The school caters for Grade Seven and Grade Eight.
Ward councillor Eric Wali said the assistance would go a long way in developing education in the rural community.
Uguro will pay K10,000 to support the Uria community in Usino in building a new church and pastor’s house.
Local level government president Pewa Aimai said community-based projects were the basis for progress.
