Remove corrupt officials in Govt

Letters

THE Government, led by Prime Minister James Marape, has had its share of social media bashing recently due to effects of the coronavirus pandemic on the economy .
One cannot blame Marape for not acting radically as he had to balance the power politics before taking any unpopular decisions that may affect the interest of his coalition partners, especially with the baggage of legacy issues within a vote-of-no-confidence time frame.
Now that his position is secured till the aftermath of next year’s national general elections, Marape has the golden opportunity to make landmark decisions within 10 months to win popular support for his party.
He has to make unilateral decision to remove corrupt public servants.
Marape has to urge the law enforcement bodies to probe complaints against politicians and Government officials.
