Remove settlers in Port Moresby

Letters

IT is time to clamp down hard on ethnic clashes in Port Moresby.
Despite being the capital city, most times you hear about ethnic clashes.
The recent ones were the Hanuabada and Baruni and the Hela and Goilala clashes.
Some months back, there was a Hela and Enga clash.
I am not saying all people from those places are bad people.
In Papua New Guinea, you have bad apples from all provinces but there are good people as well.
It seems Port Moresby consists of rural and urban sections.
There is village lifestyle incorporated into the city life.
We have sprawling buildings and settlements.
We have people with common sense, respect for one another and then you have those who are hell-bent on doing anything that goes against civility.
It is time a tougher approach is taken by the authorities.
The National Capital District should zone all areas to avoid clashes .
Squatters should be removed from the city.
This is a big problem and hindrance to development.
It is unfair to the taxpayers that uncivil, unemployed and vagrants are causing disharmony and they contribute nothing to the nation’s building.
They cannot hold every decent and peace-loving citizens at ransom by their absurd and stupid actions.
