Renovated church blessed

THE Mendi Catholic Diocese celebrated the blessing and opening of its newly renovated church and four other buildings at the St Martin De Porres, Pomberal parish in Nipa, Southern Highlands on Nov 9.
Main celebrant and Mendi Diocese Bishop Donald Lippert (OFM) in his sermon said all Catholics were “temples for the Holy Spirit” and that would help them lead better lives and help their fellow men.
He urged the faithful gathered to prepare themselves to receive the Holy Spirit and for communities to continue doing the work of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Several priests joined him at the Eucharistic celebration including religious brothers and sisters, invited guests and the lay faithful.
More than a hundred people from Christian communities came together to celebrate and witness the opening and blessing of the buildings.
