Repentance Day a waste of time

Letters

I AGREE with a letter writer on Aug 29 on why PNG does not need a repentance day.
How does it benefit our country, other than it being a publicity stunt for political points scoring for politicians.
It is just another productive working day wasted and there is a close to zero percentage chance of anyone repenting on the day.
We do not need an official day to repent.
As Christians, we make our own covenant with God that we communicate privately.
Repentance comes from the heart and cannot be legislated. It’s about observance, evaluation, and confession and it is between an individual and God, in private.
