I READ with interest the article on page 3 of The National on Jan 16, titled “Case Study: Most Victims Innocent” dealing with the subject of sorcery.
You report that the PNG Tribal Foundation in Port Moresby has found that most victims of sorcery related violence have been falsely accused.
We often read about those being tortured found innocent.
However, I was interested by the reference to “most victims” accused of sorcery being found to be falsely accused.
Please tell us more what the study finds in relation to those who are not innocent.
Have their spells killed/injured people, turned them into cats, dogs, rats etc..?
I think many readers would be interested to find out more about those whose evil spells have been successful, and what particular damage their spells have caused.
