Request for pay slips

Letters

I AM requesting the Department of Education through its salary section to provide online pay slips to teachers and public servants.
It is understood that the department has stopped issuing paper pay slips as a cost cutting measure.
As a result, many teachers and public servants are finding it difficult to access their pay slips either online or as a printout.
Pay slips are important documents. Teachers and public servants alike need them to access their pay history.
The Education Department introduced online access for teachers and public servants so they can download pay slips to their mobile phones.
This system worked effectively for a very short time, and teachers found it convenient.
But this facility has been blocked and is no longer accessible.
Many teachers are accessing their pay slips and printouts through private sources and mostly in the bigger centres. This is costing a teacher or public servant between K30 and K50 per printed page.
