Research, invest in new form of energy

Letters

RESEARCHERS from Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden have invented a liquid somer that can store and release solar energy.
They developed a liquid fuel containing the compound norbornadiene that when struck by sunlight re-arranges its carbon, hydrogen and nitrogen atoms into an energy-storing isomer, quadricyclane.
Quadricyclane holds onto 250 watt hours of energy per kilogram, even after it cools and for an extended period of time.
For people to use the energy, it has to pass through a cobalt-based catalyst, at a point which energy is released as heat.
Provincial governments, businesses, non-government organisations, all business-minded nationals should undertake a thorough research and build factories in PNG to produce the newly-developed form of energy.
