RESI funds given to SHP schools

SOME schools and institutions in the Hela region, Southern Highlands province, have received funds from the rehabilitation of education and school infrastructure (RESI) programme.
The funds were distributed by Komo-Margarima MP Francis Potape last week.
The Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) church, which runs Habare Primary School in Tari, received K100,000 and the new Hela University Centre, also in Tari, was given K50,000.
A total of K100,000 was given to SDA community schools Kukubalu and Tiunte in Komo.
The remote Yongo Community School in Upper Wage was given K140,000 while Maruka in Margarima, Lomia and Beneria in Hulia each received K100,000.
The Pagale-Yarale elementary school near the Moran oil project was given K100,000.
Mr Potape said all educational institutions in the electorate would receive their share to build new classrooms, staff houses or carry out maintenance of facilities.
Margarima High School was given K1 million to improve its facilities, while the new Komo High School was given K300,000 to prepare for its first classes next year.
The Hela Disabled Learning Centre at Hibuaga was given K50,000.
