Resign for the sake of integrity

RECENTLY, a state minister of the newly-elected Queensland government resigned because of a traffic offence to protect the integrity of the office he was appointed to.
This is often the case in other democratic countries as the public office is not a private entity.
Unfortunately, this is not so in PNG as our stubborn, self-righteous MPs would only resign if referred to a leadership tribunal.
We have members implicated in various questionable cases, including allegations of misappropriation, misuse of public funds, physical abuse and so on.
If these arrogant leaders were in a well-developed country, they would have resigned to save their face, family and integrity.
When will we see our leaders resign voluntarily from office when they are implicated?
