Respect office

Letters

IT is sad to hear that the Governor’s office in Vanimo, West Sepik, is a haven for a group of Nuku people who frequent the office whenever they please.
We aren’t insane, are we?
The office belongs to the people of Sandaun no matter what, how, why or who we are – as a supporter, voter or a clansman or a family member.
If our intention is to seek financial assistance, there are proper administrative procedures, I believe are set in place to assist us on our daily query.
Of course, we have the right to seek assistance from the governor’s office because he is our provincial representative to the national parliament.
However, it must also be understood that the governor is our provincial representative to all the people of West Sepik, regardless.
We, the Nuku people, have our local representative in parliament (Joe Sungi) to whom we should frequent his office in Nuku to seek assistance.
Please respect the officers working in governor’s office too, and adhere to their administrative protocols in dealing with us (the clients).
If our intention is for begging and procrastinating or even resorting to forced and fake claims, then we have made a terrible mistake of a lifetime – ‘right in the heart of the playing field’ surrounded by all our fans and spectators.
If we have been doing that (frequenting the governor’s office unnecessarily), please I ask of us to refrain from doing such a pitiful act.
