Respect our women, treat them as queens

Letters

THE three stories on The National on Friday about violence against women broke me into pieces.
I raged into anger as I read through these stories.
I am sick of seeing the same old stories of our women being abused by their husbands, boyfriends and even relatives.
This behaviour is venomous. It is ruining lives.
It contradicts the Christian values we claim to represent.
Our women are our special helpers that were given to us by God.
They are our nation builders.
They are the deciders of our future.
That’s because they carry our future educators and philosophers, lawyers, doctors and the workforce of this country.
They deserve to be treated as queens.
Is our Government seeing what our mothers, sisters and daughters are going through?
Our women are fighting on their own to liberate themselves from the oppression of males.
Why aren’t we joining them in the fight?
We love our country and we have big visions for our country, but we cannot progress without brains.
These women bear our brains.
We shouldn’t overlook them.
It will be fair if the Government implements the death penalty for those who abuse and kill women.
Let’s allow our women to exercise their rights.
Let’s create safe environments for our daughters, sisters and mothers.
Let’s start now.
