Rest in peace Sir Michael

Letters

THE country and its citizens around the world are mourning the death our greatest leader of all time.
Grand Chief Sir Michael Somare was the founding prime minister who gave political independence to Papua New Guinea in September 16, 1975.
Sir Michael received the title “Father of a Nation” which no one else can receive.
He should have been given the ultimate respect and farewell by the Government when he was still alive.
The Government should have flown him to all provinces so that his people can farewell him and he can see the progress of the beautiful country that he founded for the last time.
Rest in peace champion and father of Papua New Guinea Sir Michael.
