POLICE officers based at one of Port Moresby’s police stations can now prepare cases and maintain their files properly, thanks to a local information technology company.

ITronics Limited, a retailer of computers and computer accessories as well as solar power equipment, gave a computer and printer to Gordon Police Station commander Senior Sgt Hanson Tokally and his men last Thursday.

“Fighting crime is everybody’s business and as a corporate citizen operating in the city, we want to play our part in helping police carry out their work. The computer will assist police carry out their work effectively,” company managing director Chris Gundu said.

Gundu said he went to the police station once and saw a policeman working on an outdated computer.

He was moved by what he saw and decided to get his company to help the police.

Gundu said such equipment was important tools for police to carry out their work effectively.

He said the station handled many cases and the equipment would help them.
