Rethink fee payment

I SUPPORT writer of ‘University fees’ on Feb 7 in The National, for the University of Goroka council to reconsider the 100 per cent upfront payment of the full year’s fee.
This directive is trying to minimise the enrolment of students going into the institution which is not in the best interest of all stakeholders.
Parents will definitely find it hard to come up with the high fees, especially when it has been gradually increasing for the past four years.
Some students are likely miss out on the 2018 academic year which is a big loss for the country as a whole.
Is this the way forward in providing quality education?
Higher authorities need to look into this matter before worse comes to worse.
