Review other tax factors too

The National, Wednesday 19th of February, 2014

I AM happy to see that the government has lightened the burden of tax-paying citizens.
There have been countless concerns raised by all the hardworking men and women across the nation, but not a single government has paid attention to them, so I congratulate the O’Neill-led government for looking into this.
You should not just increase the tax threshold from K10,000 to K20,000.
I suggest a committee is set up to evaluate other factors and to provide a wholesome solution rather than a half-baked one.
This may include reviewing the maximum number of dependants, other sources of income, scraping off the goods and services tax for store goods and so on.
