IT’S almost a year ago when PNG successfully hosted the Asia-Pacific Economic Corporation (Apec) member countries meeting.
However, police involved in Apec have claimed that their allowances were not paid by the government.
Police officers who were involved before and after the global meet have raised complaints that, the former Peter O’Neill government had made empty promises. They were never paid their allowances.
If money was allocated for police allowances and paid, then who actually picked it and where was it parked.
O’Neill, speaker of parliament Job Pomat, NCD Governor Powes Parkop, Justin Tkatchenko and current Prime Minister James Marape, as Finance Minister in the O’Neill government, are aware of this. They are kindly asked to clarify this issue.
This are the policemen and women who took pride in representing their country when hosting an international event, involving powerful nations around the world.
Yet the government has shown total ignorance. The current Government through Police Minister Bryan Kramer and Acting Police Commissioner David Manning should look into this.
How soon the security personnel involved in the Apec meeting be paid their outstanding allowances is a concern right now.

Concerned Security Officer,
